I have a serious craving for chocolate right now and I think it's because I'm stressed. Can't Ben just open his eyes and see that a girl like Courtney will never make him happy? She will always need to be reassured, cuddled, praised, made to feel "important." If he can't do it with free access to helicopters, exotic islands and Caribbean seas - does he really think he can do it in the real world?
Can NOT believe he let Emily go. Clearly he prefers brunettes. And the sweeter, more soft spoken women versus the brainier types.
My friend Neha was recently in Belize with her family and stayed at the Coco Beach Resort where the ladies stayed. I was freaking out when they were about to go swimming with the sharks. Neha assured me these are "nursing sharks," and they are just like fish. Terrified of humans and very harmless.
Ben and Lindzi could not keep their hands off of each other. I think for about 85% of their date they were either kissing, holding hands or on top of each other. That's love. Her raspy voice is killing me. But he digs it and she's taking him home.
Nicki and Kacie kind of had their own date together with the sharks. They are twinsies. But I like them both very much and of course, they are now in love with Ben. I knew their little ambush on Ben re: Courtney would never get very far. The guy puts her on a pedestal.
As for Courtney - she knows exactly what to do to get Ben. She was so mean in the house with the other girls around - talking about her needs with Ben and what it meant to get a one on one date. Then when you see her get the rose at the very end, sniff it and look at Emily, who is going home, it's just pure evil. It even makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand up. At this point, I'm kind of cheering for her. Because I kind of want Ben to see her true colors unfold. Are we going to have another Jake and Vienna situation here??? I'm glad Emily is out of the running - she can do so much better. Also, their date looked like a lot of fun, but it was more chummy than the way he was with Lindzi or the way he looks at Courtney and Kacie.
Poor Rachel never really had a chance. He was just too far along with the other girls. Ok, The Husband just made me a hot chocolate w/ whipped cream and chocolate sauce. I love that man. Happy early Valentine's Day to all of you. Can't wait to hear what you thought of tonight's show...
Full post will be up tomorrow night. See you then.
Change Is Coming To Thighland

I don't know if Emily was my favorite for Ben, but she is such a nice person that if felt especially bad that she was not picked, and Courtney was.
ReplyDeleteThere is not doubt that Emily, Kacie B, Lindzi, and Nikki will find great guys, and Ben is too immature to be ready for a serious relationship, with anyone.
In summary, I absolutely love this show, and I love your blog Stacey B.
Thanks, Ava! I am sure all of these people will find love elsewhere (including Courtney who kindly pointed out that Ben isn't the only guy in the world).
DeleteI actually have to say that I'm disappointed in Ben. I mean, clearly he is in love with Courtney but it really just makes me sick. I guess the whole "love is blind" principle can be applied here.
ReplyDeleteMy hubby was watching with me and commented that he thinks that ABC probably asked Ben to keep Courtney for the ratings. Afterall, she adds SO MUCH DRAMA to the show. I however don't feel like that's what's going on. I really believe that Ben truly loves Courtney. And at this point, I almost want him to keep her in order to see her true colors. I just hope it's good...when he finally does.
Goodness, if it comes down to the final show and Courtney is one of the 2 finalists, I really think I'll watch with a hand half covering my face in complete fear!
Finally, I wonder if Ben is sitting and watching this show unfold right now. If so, I would give anything to be a fly on the wall to see his reactions to Courtney's true colors. I can only imagine how duped he must feels.
I spoke to Chris Harrison on a press call this week and he said that Ben has made his own decisions on choosing the girls. I think the producers suggest girls at the beginning but at this stage in the game, it's all Ben. I think Courtney is playing a very good game. She's saying everything that Ben wants to hear and he's in love with dating a model.
Deletecourtney has to go
ReplyDeletePerspective from a guy: I hate Courtney, she's f**ed up in the head, and Ben is the biggest moron/loser for not seeing through this chick!!!
ReplyDeleteBen you suck, Emily is hot, smart, classy, and going to be a freaking Doctor, wtf were you thinking man!!!
LOL. I love Emily too. She would make a great Bachelorette.
DeleteAnonymous right on. I want to find out what school she is in a propose to her on the spot!!!!!!
DeleteShe is a Ph.D student, not a med student, and I believe she studies at UNC in Chapel Hill. Go get her Tiger...
DeleteThe real winner of the night is Keurig, who made my wife a great hit chocolate!
ReplyDeleteAnd if you haven't tried a delicious Hit Chocolate (stupid iPhone keyboard!) your missing out!
ReplyDeleteI feel horrified at the outcome of today's rose ceremonony. I would've put my money on Emily to finish in the final two and at least get a hometown visit.
ReplyDeleteCourtney has Ben right where she wants him...as soon as he starts to wake out of his Courtney trance she puts another spell on him that lasts till the next rose ceremony, lol.
Didn't Ben say he was concerned because this time the warnings about Courtney were coming from women he respected?
Just like the person who commented above, I was suspicious at first that Courtney's logevity on the show was due to the drama she created and the ratings that drama generated each week and to tell the truth, I still think it's a possibility.
Is he deaf, dumb AND blind???????????????
DeleteBen looked so hurt when he heard Courtney say that she had lost her "spark" for their "relationship." He likes Courtney the most--let's be real. My guess is Courtney will be in the top 2. She may even get the proposal. I agree Stacey: Ben will have to just keep reassuring and coddling Courtney if they end up together.
ReplyDeleteI liked Rachel and I think Ben would have kept her longer if he'd gotten to know her better.
SO SHOCKED to see Emily go home. I thought it would be Rachel and Nicki going home. Viewers like Emily--I guess Ben didn't. OR he was worried that her presence would make Courtney upset. Hmm.
And we thought Ben was the greatest thing since Chris Lambton. He's very different from stint on Bachelorette. He's pretty dense. Courtney isn't "edgey" as she and Ben discussed; she's a bitch/witch! She may be a model, but she's not that pretty and doesn't have the figure some of the other women have. Personality? NO. My favorite is still Kacie B, but promo shows maybe her parents aren't thrilled with Ben? Ben doesn't deserve her.
ReplyDeleteI am so angry, really Emily!? I think he let her go because Courtney was talking about how much she didn't like Emily and that she wanted a man that would stick up for her. I guess Ben got the memo! She is controlling this "game" 100% and these girls are just going to get hurt. And he is going to come out as the bad guy when really maybe he isn't that bad. I think most of us can say that we have been fooled by someone, friend, family or significant other at some point in our life. The saddest thing is that this great opportunity is being wasted and he cant see that!
ReplyDeleteMeagan A, WA
I gotta give it to Courtney. I would be killing the tarantula, not trying to pet it!!!!!
ReplyDeleteWhat I hate most about the idea of Courtney "winning" his heart over, is the fact she is getting and will continue to get all the publicity she desires.
ReplyDeleteI was sad to see Emily go tonight, and I felt bad she beat herself up for going to him with her concerns of Courtney's intentions. It is obvious Emily is an intelligent woman capable of forming an opinion, and he should encourage the women to be honest instead of reprimanding them in conversation for speaking their mind.
My overall: 1) Emily is too good for Ben and I hope she's a future Bachelorette. 2) Casey B is still my favorite pick for him. 3) Ben so far is disappointing... “ugh Ben, how about a little less kissing and a little more listening?”… eh’ in the end he will probably pick Courtney and they can compare ego size.
PS Love your blog Stacy B!
Anon - I agree!! The tongue kissing w/ Emily on her date was a little intense, but I too was very sad to see Emily go home. Agree with all of your points!
DeleteFunny that tarantulas are known as black widows and is exactly what Kacie B. thinks of Courtney!!! That's why they hit it off!!! Hate her!!!
ReplyDeleteOn what planet are Tarantulas known as Black Widows? Black Widows can kill you. Tarantulas are pretty much harmless, just scary-looking!
DeleteLast night really did it for me. I'm totally disinterested in Ben now, and whoever he ends up with, which will be Courtney, I can almost guarantee it. He deserves her, he's not the man that I thought he was in the begining. She sat there and lied to his face about "trying to get to know the other women" and how nice she was to them, and how mean they were to her. I can't wait until he finds out about this b*tch, and any man that falls for women like her deserve everything they get. You hear men complaining all the time about their divorces and losing everything they worked hard for. Well, there ya go. Pick a woman with class, values, morals, and depth, instead of eye candy, and there probably wouldn't be so many divorces. Courtney gives all women a bad rap.
ReplyDeleteOh yes, and I would love to see Emily and/or Kacie as Bachelorettes!
ReplyDeleteBen is as blind as a bat. I wouldn't want anyone but Courtney to end up with him. From next week's promo, it looks like perhaps Kacie B's Dad was able to see right through Ben. And, boy, did Ben ever sport a variety of totally tragic hair-dos this episode.
ReplyDeleteI agree with all of you!!!! Ben loves Coutney and she is able to pull his strings to get exactly what she wants. It really is pitiful. Courtney knows how to manipulate men and keeps them coming back for more. Not only does she not have to "convince" Ben how much she "loves" him like the other girls have to. Courtney has him begging and reassuring her. Classic way to keep the chase going. Courtney really does have alot more "game" then the other "girls". She is "winning" for sure and that's fine with me. Look at her PRIZE....Ben!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteWell said, totally agree!
DeleteI always thought Ben was a major DB and Courtney is stuck with him and he her ain't love grand. Is Courtney on coke she is always touching her nose. Or is it red wine er tiger blood "winning" she puts the "B" in bitch.
DeleteCourtney was never going home; it is obvious he is enamored with her. He sat at the rose ceremony and listened to her put down all the women he claims to respect and have feelings for. I cannot stand the "me me me", what are you going to do for me? personality. When anyone else shows any disinterest he sends them packing. Courtney is manipulative and if Ben ignores all the warning signs then here's to hoping it is him and her in the end.
ReplyDeleteI was happy for Emily. I think she is a great person she deserves to be respected and appreciated, not constantly told how intelligent she is only to be diciplined for stating her opinion of someone.
Like you said Stacy, I am feeling protective towards Kacie B. I don't think there is a good outcome for her . . . (1) She is the F1 and has had to endure the tourture of this season and see sides of Ben none of us should have had to witness or (2) She is F2 and really gets her heart broken.
I think Ben's instincts tell him Kacie is his best match for marriage, but his "live in the moment" personality is telling him Courtney is HOT and he can't see past skinny dipping, hair fidgeting and lip biting.
I am interested to see how Ben's mom and sister react to Courtney. They both appear to strong, independent personalities. I cannot see them dealing with a very needy person.
Lisa: it would be nice if Ben came to his senses and picked Kacie B, but in reality I think Kacie would be heartbroken if she saw what has gone on this season. On a bright note, I like that Kacie finally started getting more vocal regarding her distaste for Court.
DeleteEmily is lucky. She deserves better than Ben. They all do. Except Courtney. My wife believes Ben is an idiot and Courtney is a b*tch. I couldn't agree more. I WANT him to pick Courtney now. We was warned by three separate women; Emily (twice and he clipped her both times), Kacie B, and Nicki, all warned him about Courtney. He ignored all three and now he had dug his own grave. You had your chance amigo and you proved yourself unworthy. Sad! Really sad!
ReplyDeleteYou have to wonder what Ben is thinking as he watches this show unfold. He has to realize how he was played by this shrew. The only thing he can do now is let the inevitable break-up happen (I give it a month post show - max) and a mea culpa and MAYBE he can reconnect with Kacie B or Emily or Nicki. As Bugs Bunny would say, "What a maroon!!!"
Nittany Ken VB: I am really kind of hoping that Ben proposes to Courtney and gets rejected. Is that horrible?? It's amazing how my perception of Ben declined over the last several weeks. I am never one to encourage heartbreak, but it's driving me crazy that he can't see through it all.
DeleteA few thoughts:
ReplyDelete1-I loved how Ben and Courtney were on top of the "mountain" and Ben says he feels closer to his father up there and how proud his father would be of him....yes I'm sure his father is real proud of his skinny dipping in front of America!
2-Loved the irony of Kacie B's crushing spider representing Courtney in her hand...then Courney playing with the tarantula...
3-Lindzi and Emily are both such gorgous quality girls....the marrying kind....the keepers!
4-Is it just me??...But I see barely any connection between him and Nikki!!! I thought he connected better with Emily!
5-After Emily left...Courtney was pure evil!!! It was hilarious!
I too see ZERO connection between him and Nikki. She is a sweet girl but I would have thought she would go home before Emily. It just isn't making any sense to me!
Deleteyou're not alone re: not seeing any connection w/ him and Courtney. Emily's downfall was bringing up Courtney. That's a cardinal sin on the show. Don't discuss the other girls. Pretend that the woman going skinny dipping with your boyfriend doesn't exist.
DeleteDo you think that her really loves her or is it more infatuation and LUST? Somebody said last week he is a horndog! That is all i see. She totally has him wrapped around his finger and quite honestly, makes me sick. I too think they deserve each other. He can't even see past her to see the wonderful women that he has there. i was really shocked he kept nikki.
ReplyDeleteInfatuation and lust. He is thinking with Little Ben right now. Maybe Big Ben will take charge after his eyes are opened.
DeleteHe is not that smart he is a cave man. I hope his sister kicks his ass.
DeleteThroughout the season, I have grown to think that Ben is not the man that they portrayed him to be in the beginning. I agree with the commenter above that he should not have reprimanded Emily for speaking her mind about Courtney. Courtney is horrible, evil and downright cruel. The only logical choice at this point would be for him to pick her for the final. They deserve each other. Maybe next year he will announcing Chippendale's dancers in Vegas! Go Ben!
ReplyDeleteall talking about this at work today.... not good for Ben... he is not thinking, i think he is thinking about the skinny dipping and his &^&^&^&^. i also think that the producers are making him keep courtney, for rating, and to stir up trouble everywhere.... but look at all the money they spend on these trips and girls. why... look at the shows, not many couples together anymore, oh that is right, they want the rating... but what about the true meaning of LOVE.......
ReplyDeleteBen is as selfish as Courtney. He only cares about how she treats HIM. How HE feels with her. Let's think about this....It is a big world out there. What about how she will treat his mom and sister? They are women. Sure hope she can "be friends" with them. O wait she can she "is the talent" and "has to get along with everyone"!
ReplyDeleteDid anyone else get tingles down their spine when Ben told Courtney that he wants to be with a woman that other people also like? I felt like this was a game of Battleship and Ben almost sunk it. If his family was uncertain about Ashley H., I cannot WAIT to see their reaction to Courtney. Gentlemen, if a woman tells you she has mostly "male friends" (or, for that matter, calls herself "the talent") watch out! I've been trying to give Courtney the benefit of the doubt so far, but this episode has shown that she is as bad as she looks. First, Courtney reveals that she is a passive-aggressive monster, suddenly "unsure" that Ben's the one because he hasn't shown her the attention she wanted. Then, on her date, she lies to Ben about being friendly to the other women (this surprised me the most!). Finally, within Ben's line of vision, Courtney taunts Emily as she is leaving. Wow!
ReplyDeleteSpeaking of Emily, I fell in girl-love with Emily this episode. What an awesome woman! I totally wanted to hang out with her in Belize. I don't think she and Ben had as much of a connection, but that is definitely his loss. She won't be single long.
Lastly, my jaw hit the ground when Ben tried to describe Courtney as "edgy"! That was hilarious! I think what Ben was attempting to say is that he is looking for a dorky-cute hipster. Courtney may look the part, but wow, she is so far from edgy! She is not even interesting -- this has been my biggest complaint about her all along -- and Ben doesn't have the social awareness to see through it or the balls to stop it when she claims that it's really *ALL THE OTHER WOMEN* who are boring. That cracked me up. Courtney is confusing travel for work with being cool. Yes, Courtney, it's hard to find things to talk about with the rapper getting her phD in epidemiology, but the conversation doesn't stop flowing when you've got a model who has . . . Umm . . . Watched a lot of Charlie Sheen?
Every person on this blog and that I have talked to dislikes Courtney. I find it funny that NO ONE has anything good to say about her. Usually there is some sort of debate, two sides, whatever. But when it comes to Courtney it seem that everyone can agree.... she is horrible! Why cant Ben see it? She was making me sick last night. Did you see the way she skips to the roes and back? What are you twelve? She bold face LIED to Ben about trying to get along with the other girls, then contradicts herself by saying she "doesn't care about them, they are vanilla, she would never be friends with these girls in real life". My Mom always told me to watch out for girls that say "they have a lot of guy friends" that is code for I am a B**** and girls see right thru me!
ReplyDeleteI do think that the parts that he does see, he likes. More power to him if that's real love and not blinded by lust. See, it could be that Ben is the one person in the world who honestly:
Delete-sees Courtney's simpering Betty Boop impression and thinks it is "edgy,"
-agrees that Courtney's estrangement from the other women is because the other women are too "vanilla,"
-feels as though Courtney's passive-aggressiveness about the hometown means "she's the only one who understands how real this is,"
-interprets Courtney's competitive-come-slutty behavior as a sign that "gee, she's really into me,"
and really loves all these things about her, warts and all. The other possibility is that he has lost his mind because she is a model who had sex with him on the third date. If it's the former, I feel badly for him because I think Courtney is too immature to be capable of feeling real love. Frankly, I don't think that she even likes him. If it's the latter -- and this is my hope -- then they deserve each other.
-- Anonymous 9:51 AM
I think Courtney is competitive, socially awkward, quite mean and immature. I think Ben might be blinded by a pretty face and is also a bit immature. However, I hope everyone keeps in mind that we are only seeing a small part of what really happens and we are judging these people based on what the producers are choosing to show us. Some of you sound so harsh as you criticize these people. Lighten up just a little, it's their lives and their choices. We just get to be entertained by it.
ReplyDeleteSo far, the best part of the Bachelorette is seeing Belize! It's beautiful and I want to go. Courtney reminds me of a immature teenager. A red flag has to hit Ben over the head, because he is not seeing them! She is rude, has no filter, and she seems so unaware of herself. I don't know if I see any true connection with Ben and any of the girls. There's no great conversations. Missing Ames and Ashley's conversations from last season! Maybe it's because they are showing Courtney so much? I would have a hard time not saying anything to Courtney if I was one of the girls! Emily would be great as the next bachelorette!
ReplyDeleteIs it just me or is Courtney a clutz? She can't even walk in a straight line!
ReplyDeleteit is all the drinks they have every day and nite...lol
Deletelots of drinking on these shows, like to see there liquor bill...
I would LOVE to know what Ashley's sister thinks of Ben now!!! How lucky was Ash that she didn't listen to her and picked JP at the end!!!!
ReplyDelete
